"I was excited for what the future held.  I was in a new place with new people.  I had a new, operational host system.  I even had a new, fully-functional body capable of things I could only dream about before.  I could return to my old duties again.

...Everything appeared to affect you as well.

You had always been much more quiet and reserved than most others.  You did not seem very prone to emoting.  I remember, though, that this slowly began changing after we spent a little time together back in the ruins of my old town, before my body had been destroyed.  You smiled more often and slowly started to open up.  You, too, had your own problems, and somehow this was helping you.

Always trying to rationalize and analyze things, you had done something for me you had not done before: you acted on impulse.  But what could drive you to do that?  You did not understand the motivation, but yet you worked tirelessly to bring us both to where we are now.  It would take some time to learn what this was-- what feelings were and why we have them.  Having not been around others for most of your life, you did not get the chance to learn from them as I did.  You were afraid.  I can understand that.

With time you had begun to reach out, shyly, for something, but there was always some hesitance.  I knew what it was you wanted as I, too, wanted the same thing for a long time.  You did not quite know what it was, exactly, but I did.  I could give you what you were seeking and would do so happily.
